Al-‘Hayyu Qayyoomu means The Ever-Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. This is a part of The Verse of The Throne in the Noble Quran Surah #2, Al-Baqarah, Verse/Ayat #255 which is also known as Ayat-ul-Kursi in Urdu.
Elaborating this particular word Al-‘Hayyu of the verse:
The word ‘Hayyu means ‘the living’ in Arabic. Out of the divine names, the introduction of this word is to emphasize that HE is Ever-living and Ever-lasting. HE is above and beyond death.
ALLAH is the only one who is ever-living and who will be living eternally. Everything will perish except ALLAH.
Elaborating this particular word Qayyoomu of the verse:
This word Qayyoomu is derived from ‘Qiyaam’ which literally means to stand (We do in ‘Salah’). ‘Qa’im’ refers to the one who stands. The words ‘Qayyum’ and ‘Qayyaam’ are forms of aggregation.
They mean The One Who HIMSELF stands firmly and keeps others sustained and supported, all simultaneously.
This is ‘Ism-e-Azam.

What ‘Ali R.A. Said About ya-‘Hayyu Qayyoomu
Sayyidina ‘Ali May ALLAH be please with Him says:
There was a time during the battle of Badr when I wished I could see what the Holy Prophet ﷺ was doing. On arrival, I saw Him in the state of prostration (Sajdah), constantly saying ya-‘Hayyu Qayyoomu ya-‘Hayyu Qayyoomu
Hadith Regarding Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum Bi Rahmatika Astaghees
Anas bin Malik said:
“Whenever a matter would distress Him, the Prophet ﷺ would say:
‘O Living, O Self-Sustaining Sustainer! In Your Mercy do I seek relief (Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum Bi Rahmatika Astagheeth).’” And with this chain, that he said: “The Messenger of ALLAH ﷺ said: ‘Be constant with: “O Possessor of Majesty and Honor (ya Zal Jalaali Wal Ikraam).’”

Abu Hurairah narrated that:
When a matter would worry the Prophet ﷺ, he would raise his head up toward the sky and say:
“Glory is to ALLAH, the Magnificent (Subhaan ALLAHil-‘Azeem).” And when he would strive in supplication; he would say: “O the Living, O Sustainer (Ya Hayyu yā Qayyoom).”

In The Noble Quran, Surah #2, Al-Baqarah, Verse/Ayat #152, ALLAH The Exalted says:
فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِي وَلَا تَكْفُرُونِ
Remember ME, then, and I will remember you. And be thankful to ME, and be not ungrateful to ME.
Verse 152 asks men to “remember” HIM as the Supreme Benefactor, and to render HIM thanks by being obedient. As long as they do so, ALLAH will “remember” them in showering on them His material and spiritual blessings.
This verse ends with the reminder that men should not be ungrateful to ALLAH in denying His blessings or in being disobedient.
The one who remembers ALLAH through HIS lovely names will indeed be benefits here and in the afterlife.
As The Messenger of ALLAH ﷺ said: ‘Be constant with ya Zal Jalaali Wal Ikraam (O Possessor of Majesty and Honor).
The Merits of Dhikr (Remembrance) of ALLAH
The merits of Dhikr (Remembrance) are, indeed, innumerable.
ALLAH The Majestic says that so long as HIS servant keeps remembering Him and his lips keep moving in Dhikr, ALLAH remains with him.
When a man “remembers” ALLAH, He too “remembers” him.
Dhikr or “Remembrance” essentially pertains to the heart, but in so far as the tongue is the interpreter of the heart the oral recitation
of a Divine Name or a verse of the Holy Qur’an is also described as Dhikr. In other words, oral Dhikr can be worth the name only when it
is accompanied by the “remembrance” of the heart.
