This is a very common problem in almost all the homes. People use repellents like mat, liquid, and coils etc. , clothing, netting, and other personal protection measures. Such measures can help prevent mosquito and flea bites and the diseases they carry. But more or less they are toxic and harmful for us and for our entire family. Curious to Know Why??

They are Harmful, They are Toxic, They have Allethrin*!

Mosquito repellent mats and coils (and other forms of synthetic mosquito repellents) have been associated with adverse health effects in some people e.g. respiratory problems, coughing, sore throat, eye irritation, nausea, headache, and worsening asthma and allergies. Exactly how dangerous they are to humans in the long-term is not yet clear; some studies suggest that they may have adverse effects on the nervous system, eyes, and liver. Many medical experts agree that babies, children, and pregnant or breastfeeding women shouldn’t be exposed to them. You’re wise not to let your kids sleep with them on through the night.

If you’re desperate to get a good night’s sleep, though, you’re certainly not taking a major health risk if you use them occasionally. And of course, if you’re in a malaria area, e.g. while traveling, concerns about getting bitten by an infected mosquito should outweigh concerns about exposure to chemical repellents. But in the long term, even if you live in a malaria area, you should aim to cut down on your use of chemical repellents and employ other methods.

The other ways that can be employed are:

⇒ Use mosquito nets or window and door screens. This is really the best option.

⇒ If you do use mats or coils, it’s best to keep windows open for adequate ventilation. Preferably, don’t plug the device in right next to the headboard of the bed, and keep it on for a shorter time. If you experience any adverse or allergic reaction, don’t use these products. 

⇒ Try some of the plant-derived mosquito repellent options e.g. citronella. There’s little question that these products are far less effective than their synthetic counterparts – but many of them do help, if only for a short while.

⇒ Try keeping a fan on, aimed towards you, while you’re sleeping (this one really works for me anyway!)

⇒ Don’t provide mosquitoes with places to breed – i.e. standing water – in your immediate environment. Reduce places where water can collect e.g. old tires and plant pots, blocked gutters, bird baths.

*Allethrin: Other Names- Alleviate, Pynamin. d-trans allethrin: D-Trans Conc. 90%, bioallethrin, MGK 264 and Esbiothrin. Allethrin is used almost exclusively in homes and gardens for control of flies and mosquitoes, and in combination with other pesticides to control flying or crawling insects. The purified d-trans-isomer of allethrin is more toxic to insects and is used for control of crawling insects in homes and restaurants.

Flea or ‘Piso’  ‘پسو’ in Urdu

The dark speck that suddenly appears when you walk across the carpet, then disappears, is likely a flea. It’s a bloodsucker, reddish-brown, about one-eighth of an inch long. Using a magnifying glass, you’d see the flea’s body is flattened from side-to-side and it has long claws on its legs – both are adaptations for traveling between hair shafts. The flea also has spines on its mouth, legs and back to help prevent it from being groomed off.

Cat fleas (Ctenocephalides felis) are more common in cats, dogs, and humans than dog fleas (Ctenocephalides canis) and human fleas (Pulex irritans). Each has its preferred hosts. The human flea prefers the blood of humans and pigs. Cat and dog fleas prefer cats and dogs, though children can become infested when pets sleep or rest on the same bed. Cat and dog fleas also will infest certain types of wild carnivores, including opossums and raccoons, but not squirrels, rats or mice. While these two species do not carry human diseases, they can carry tapeworms (Dipylidium caninum) that infect dogs. Other flea species occasionally encountered by humans include the oriental rat flea (Xenopsylla cheopis) and the northern rat flea (Nosopsyllus fasciatus). These fleas live on Norway rats and roof rats and are capable of transmitting plague and murine typhus to humans.

Fleas & Disease

Bubonic plague occurs most often where persons live or participate in outdoor activities in close proximity to wild rodents, such as rock squirrels, ground squirrels, prairie dogs, chipmunks, and rats. Pets also bring plague-infected fleas into the home. Cats are highly susceptible to the disease. Outbreaks can arise in urban and rural areas, especially where conditions are primitive or unsanitary.

Surah Ibraheem in Textual Format:

وَمَا لَنَا أَلَّا نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَانَا سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَىٰ مَا آذَيْتُمُونَا ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُتَوَكِّلُونَ

کیڑوں سے بچنے کی دعا

اگر آپ کے گھر میں کیڑے مکوڑوں کی فوج ہے۔ یا سانپ، ٹِڈّے، چوہے، چھپکلی یا اس طرح کا کوئی بھی جانور ہو۔ اور آپ کو خطرہ ہو کہ وہ آپ کو نقصان پہنچا سکتا ہے۔ تو ایسی صورت میں آپ موذی جانور سے بچنے کا وظیفہ جو اس پیج پر دیا ہوا ہے، پڑھ سکتے ہیں۔ انشاء اللّٰه اس عمل کے کرنے کے بعد وہ آپ کے گھر سے دفع ہو جائیں گے، آمین۔
اوپر دی گئی سورہ ابراہیم کو وضو کی حالت میں پڑھنا ہے۔ اور ایسے کیڑے مکوڑوں کے کھانے کی کوئی بھی چیز پر دم کر دیجیئے۔ سورہ ابراہیم ایک (١) مرتبہ پڑھنی ہے۔ دم کرنے کے بعد اس چیز کو اس جانور کے آنے جانے کی جگہ پر رکھ دیجیئے۔ جیسے ہی وہ چیز کھائے گا، وہ جانور انشاء اللّٰه دفع ہو جائے گا، آمین۔

غور طلب: دم کی ہوئی چیز ناپاک جگہ پر نہ رکھیں۔ خواتین اس عمل کو حیض/ ماہواری میں قطعی نہیں کریں۔

English Transliteration of Surah 14. Ibrahim, Verse 12 

Wama lana alla natawakkala ‘aala Allahi waqad hadana subulana walanasbiranna ‘aalama athaytumoona wa ‘aala ALLAHi falyatawakkali almutawakkiloona

English Translation of the Above Ayat:

No reason have we why we should not put out trust on Allah. Indeed He has guided us to the ways we (follow). We shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us: For those who put their trust should put their trust on Allah. (14: 12). 

To drive out mosquitoes and fleas etc. from the house or bedroom:

1. Recite the above-mentioned verse 7 times and blow on water (approximately a cup or two);
2. Then say 7 times; “0 mosquitoes and fleas! If you believe in Allah, don’t trouble us”;
3. Then sprinkle the water in and around the house. The night will lnsha ALLAH pass without disturbance, Amin.

Is amal ko har tarah ke mozi janwar se nijat pane ke liye parha ja sakta hai.

1. Upar di gayi Surah Ibraheem ki Ayat 12 ko 7 martaba pade fir pani (taqreeban ek ya do cup) pe dum kar dijiye;
2. Fir 7 martaba ye kahiye- “Ae machharo aur pisuo agar tum ALLAH pe yaqeen rakhte ho to humare liye musibat khadi na karo”;
3. Fir us pani ko chidak de ghar me or as pas ki jagah. Rat inshaAllah Achhe se or bila musibat ke guzregi, Amin.

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِرُسُلِهِمْ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا ۖ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ

Waqala-allazeena kafaroo lirusulihim lanukh rijannakum min ardinaa aw lata ‘oodunna fee millateenaa fa-awha ilayhim rabbuhum lanuhlikanna-alzalimeena

And those who disbelieved said to their messengers, “We will surely drive you out of our land, or you must return to our religion.” So their Lord inspired to them, “We will surely destroy the wrongdoers.

اور کافروں نے اپنے رسولوں سے کہا ہم تمہیں اپنے ملک سے نکال دیں گے یا ہمارے دین میں لوٹ آؤ تب انہیں ان کے رب نے حکم بھیجا کہ ہم ان ظالموں کو ضرور ہلاک کر دیں گے

और काफिरों ने अपने रसूलों से कहा हम तुम्हे अपने मुल्क़ से निकाल देंगे या हमारे दीन में लौट आओ तब इन्हे इनके रब्ब ने हुक्म भेजा के हम इन ज़ालिमों को ज़रूर हलाक कर देंगे|

Is tarah ke janwar bahut khalal paida karte hai. Chahe wo ghar me ho ya phir kheton mein. Jab wo kheton mein hote hai to fasal ko muqsan pahuchate hai. Agar ghar mein aap in se pareshani haal hai. Yani choohe, lal baig, pissu, machhar aur khatmal, is tarah ke janwar jo gharon mein konon mein chhupe hue rehte hai. Waqt ane par ye hamein nuqsan bhi pahucha sakte hai.

1. In sab janwaron se nijat pane ke liye budh ke roz, tulu aftab yani suraj ugne ke qabl pahle.
2. Wuzu ki halat mein rehte hue.
3. Pak-saf kaghaz par Surah adad 14 Surah Ibraheem ki ayat adad 13 (jo upar di hui hai) ko likh lijiye. Yani jitne konon mein dafn karni hai utni parchiyon par likh lijiye.
4. Phir in kagahz ki parchiyon ko gatton ya takhtiyon par chaspa kar dijiye.
5. Un gatton ke tukron ko hifazat se kisi theli wagerah mein lapte lijiye. Agar kheton mein janwaron se nijat chahiye to inhe khet ke alag-alag konon mein gaarh dijiye. Aur ghar mein nijat chahiye to ghar ke konon mein chhupa dijiye.
6. Aur bas inhe ese hi rehne dein aur bhul jayein.
7. Ek hi din mein apko farq mehsoon hone lagega. Machhar, chhipkali, choohe wagerah sabhi dafah ho jayenge, Insha ALLAH Ameen.
